Finland Tops World Happiness Index For Eighth Consecutive Year; Check How India, Pakistan Stand
Finland has retained its position as the world's happiest country for eight consecutive years, with Denmark and Iceland ranking second and third.

Finland has secured the top position as the world's happiest nation for the eighth consecutive year, according to the World Happiness Report 2025. Released on thursday, the Nordic countries have comtinued to dominate the top positions. In the top three spots, Denmark and Iceland has earned the place after Finland.
The ranking of the countries, according to the report, were determined via self-evaluation surveys where the individuals rated their own lives. The research was conducted by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, besides Gallup and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
"Happiness isn't just about wealth or growth - it's about trust, connection and knowing people have your back," said Jon Clifton, the CEO of Gallup as quoted by the Economic Times.
"If we want stronger communities and economies, we must invest in what truly matters: each other," he added.
The parameters for the report include shared meals, rleiable social support and the household composition significqantly influence the happiness levels. The research indicate that in Mexico and Europe, the households with four to five members report the highest satisfaction levels.
The European nations dominates in the top 20 positions with some exceptions. Israel secured the eighth position despite the Hamas conflict, whilst Costa Rica and Mexico achieved their first top ten placements at the sixth and the tenth position respectively.
