IT Department Searches Continue In Tollywood At Game Changer Producers Properties

The Income Tax Department continued its investigation, conducting searches at multiple locations linked to prominent film producer Dil Raju, as well as the production houses Mythri Movie Makers

The Income Tax Department continued its investigation on Wednesday, conducting searches at multiple locations linked to prominent film producer and Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC) Chairman, Dil Raju, as well as the production houses Mythri Movie Makers and Mango Media, in Hyderabad. These searches, which had begun on Tuesday morning, extended into the second day, with teams focusing on Dil Raju’s residence at Ujas Villas in Jubilee Hills, his office, and the properties of his relatives.

The searches are part of a broader inquiry into potential discrepancies between the reported revenues of these production houses and the income tax payments made by them. IT officials were reviewing critical documents, including balance sheets, tax returns, and other financial records. They were also inspecting bank lockers, and Dil Raju’s wife was taken to a bank on Tuesday to open a locker as part of the investigation.

Dil Raju, whose real name is V. Venkata Ramana, has recently produced major films such as Game Changer and Sankranthiki Vasthunam under his banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations. Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, was released on January 10, 2025, while Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which starred Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, became one of the highest-grossing films of his career.

The IT searches also extended to the properties of Dil Raju’s family members, including his daughter Hansita Reddy, co-producer Sireesh, who is also a co-owner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, and director Anil Ravipudi.

In response to the ongoing investigations, Dil Raju clarified that the IT searches were not limited to his properties. He emphasized that the raids were part of a wider effort impacting the entire film industry.

Additionally, the searches targeted the production house Mythri Movie Makers, the team behind Pushpa 2. The Income Tax Department conducted searches at the residences of the founders, Naveen Yemeni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, along with the CEO Cherry and other key figures associated with the production company. Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun, was released last month and reportedly grossed over Rs 1,500 crore.
