New Delhi: Ahead of Thalapathy Vijay's birthday on June 22, the first single promo from his highly-awaited film 'Leo' is out. As promised, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo's director, shared the son promo on his official Twitter handle. On Vijay's 49th birthday, many filmmakers have planned surprises for the Tamil superstar which will be unveiled in due course.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Lokesh wrote, "Indha paadalai paadiyavar ungal Vijay Advance Happy Birthday wishes  @actorvijay Anna https://youtu.be/iq5MaiXAUo #NaaReady #Leo 🔥🧊."

Lokesh also shared the YouTube link of the promo which gives a glimpse of the chorus of the song. The promo also mentions that Leo's music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, at a special event celebrating Tamil superstar Vijay's upcoming 49th birthday, Lokesh Kanagaraj announced that he will quit films after completing 10 projects. "I don't have long-term plans. Or I don't have the desire to hold on to this place for a long time. I wanted to try my hand at movies. That's why I made short films. When I saw I was able to connect with it, I made that my profession," he said in an interview with SS Music channel.

'Leo' film

'Leo' stars Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas, Gautham Vasudev Menon among others. As per reports, some influencers have also been roped in for special appearances in the film. However, nothing is confirmed on this end. 

'Leo' is currently being filmed in Chennai. The movie went on floors in Kashmir earlier this year. The film was shot in the valley for about 50 days before the makers moved back to Chennai. The film is said to be wrapped around by the end of July after which post-production work will begin. 

There has been a lot of talk around 'Leo' being a part of the cinematic universe that Lokesh has been trying to build. However, no confirmation has come in. Lokesh has on previous occasions spoken about how 'Leo' will be a unique film for Vijay's career.

Produced by Seven Screen Studios, 'Leo' is slated to be released on October 19, 2023.
