Naga Chaitanya To Cast In The Remake Of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2? Actor’s Team Reacts

Naga Chaitanya isn't working on a remake of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' and his team has issued an official statement regarding the same.

New Delhi: In case you hadn't heard, Naga Chaitanya was reportedly taking on the title role in the Tamil and Telugu language adaptation of Kartik Aaryan's smash hit ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. The film starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu was one of the most successful Bollywood films of 2022. The horror comedy was a huge success at the box office. Some of the film’s fans thought it was a bad idea to recreate a successful Bollywood film in the age of streaming services.

Recent reports suggest that ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ was being remade in Tamil and Telugu with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Jyothika. However, the Naga Chaitanya team has now publicly refuted the rumours with a tweet sent on social media that reads,

The actor isn't working on a remake, and his team has asked that the rumour not be repeated. The official statement reads: "FACT CHECK : The news which is being circulated regarding Chay doing the remake of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is completely false. - Team #NagaChaitanya."

It's important to note that ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ remake rights have been acquired by producer KE Gnanavel Raja. In an interview, Raja said, “I have purchased the South remake rights of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. However, we will spin the story a little bit as per the taste of the South Indian audiences, especially the Tamil/Telugu audiences. Most of the story remains unchanged,” as quoted by DNA.

According to Raja, filming will begin in July or August, as he said in the same interview. The producer also said that the title of the movie hasn't been decided yet.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya appeared most recently in the well-received Venkat Prabhu film Custody. The actor hasn't announced any other projects since this one.
