Income Tax Officials Reach Sonu Sood's Mumbai Home A Day After Raids At His Offices

Earlier on Wednesday, raids at Sonu Sood's offices in Mumbai ended late night. Income Tax officers spent several hours searching six locations linked to the actor.

Income Tax officials arrived at actor-philanthropist Sonu Sood's house in Mumbai this morning, after raids at his several offices were conducted by the team till late last night. The IT officials are investigating Sonu Sood's property deal with a Lucknow-based real estate company.

Earlier, raids at Sonu Sood's offices in Mumbai ended late last night. Income Tax officers spent several hours searching six locations linked to the actor.

According to sources, a recent deal between Sonu Sood's company and a Lucknow-based real estate firm is under the scanner and the survey operation has been initiated on allegations of tax evasion on this deal.

The raids come days after the actor's recent high-profile meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who declared him brand ambassador for a "Desh ka Mentors" programme for school students.

48-year-old Sonu Sood was hailed as a real-life hero and was conferred with a special humanitarian action award by the United National Development Programme for helping people during the Coronavirus pandemic. Starting with providing busses for the migrant workers in 2020, the Bollywood actor ensured oxygen supply during the peak of the second wave of the pandemic.
