Sidhu Moosewala's New Song 'Vaar' Released On Gurpurab, Gets More Than 6 Million Views In Seven Hours

Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s song ‘Vaar’ was released on his YouTube channel on the occasion of Gurpurab. This is Moose Wala’s second song to be released after his death in May this year.

New Delhi: Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s song ‘Vaar’ was released on his YouTube channel on Tuesday on the occasion of Gurpurab. This is Moose Wala’s second song to be released after his death in May this year.

The track lauds the valour of legendary Sikh warrior Hari Singh Nalwa. Nalwa (1791-1837) was the commander of the army of the Sikh empire under Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Nalwa was known as the most feared Sikh warrior for taming turbulent forces in Afghanistan and was also known for his rule in the conquests of areas including Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Multan, Kashmir, and Peshawar.

The song was posted on the singer’s Instagram page with the caption, "Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter. Vaar Playing Now..!"

The song has garnered more than 6 million views within seven hours of its release.

Moose Wala's other song ‘SYL’ was released on YouTube channel almost a month after his demise and was later blocked by the video-sharing platform.

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29 when he was on his way to Jawahar Ke village in Mansa in a jeep with his friend and cousin. His vehicle was waylaid and bullets were sprayed on him by six shooters.

After the killing, Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder.

Punjab Police had confirmed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has admitted to being the mastermind of the murder of the singer and was plotting the murder since August last year.

Sidhu Moosewala's father recently threatened to withdraw the FIR in his son's murder case and leave the country if the slain singer was linked with gangsters.  Giving an ultimatum to the state machinery till November 25 to hear him out, an emotional Balkaur Singh claimed that his son was killed under a well-planned conspiracy and said he was not ready to accept the allegations that the singer was killed as part of a gang rivalry.
