Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend Siddharth Pithani on Friday from Hyderabad related to the drugs case linked to SSR’s death. Now, Pithani has been sent to 5-days NCB custody.
According to a report of ANI, Siddharth Pithani has been sent to 5-days NCB custody in the drugs case. The report read, “Siddharth Pathani sent to 5-day NCB custody. He was arrested from Hyderabad in the drugs case linked to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)”.
The investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is still ongoing and the NCB has arrested many people related to the drugs case linked to the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s death. The NCB also filed a 12,000-page charge sheet against 33 people which includes Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty and others. The agency filed the charge sheet before a Mumbai Special NDPS Court on March 5, 2021.
Last year, after the ‘Chhichhore’ actor’s death on June 14, 2020, his father lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others for the abetment of his son’s suicide. The case was then transferred to the CBI for investigation. During the probe, the CBI found a drugs-related angle in the case and hence NCB also started with their investigation.
Siddharth Pithani was Sushant Singh Rajput’s flatmate and had met the ‘Raabta’ actor a night before his death. SSR was allegedly found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai on June 14, 2020.
