The Nambi Effect is Madhavan's directing debut. It's something he's frequently referred to as his passion. It premiered in theaters throughout the globe during the first week of July. Actor Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the film in a cameo role as well.
The life of former Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was falsely convicted of espionage and was even imprisoned back in 1994, is the subject of the documentary film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'.
A Cannes Film Festival screening of the film was held in April 2022 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The movie is presently available to watch online on Amazon Prime Video.
