Pavitra Rishta 2.0: Shaheer Sheikh To Play Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s Role Manav, Ankita Lokhande Back As Archana

If buzz is to be believed then popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh has been roped in to play the iconic character of Manav that made Sushant Singh Rajput a household name in Pavitra Rishta 2.0. Seven years since Pavitra Rishta ended in 2014, makers are back with the second season and the concept of the show has already been finalised.

A report in Pinkvilla states that, Ekta Kapoor has now moved on to casting of the show and “Shaheer Sheikh has come on board Pavitra Rishta 2.0 to portray the iconic character of Manav. Ankita will be back to play Archana again after 7 long years.The other cast members will be locked soon,” revealed a source close to the development.

With almost 1500 episodes, Pavitra Rishta was among the most popular soaps back in 2009. It made Sushant Singh Rajput a household name with his character of Manav and introduced Ankita Lokhande to the world of television.

It was in July last year that Ekta and Ankita had decided for a sequel to Pavitra Rishta, and it took more than a year for them to lock a script that proves to be a fitting follow up to the legacy of this daily soap. Recently Ankita had celebrated 12 years of Pavitra Rishta with fans on social media. During a live interaction with fans, she was seen getting emotional talking about the show and her co-star, Sushant who played the male lead role on show.

Reportedly, the show will premiere on an OTT platform.

Meanwhile, tributes and remembrance posts poured in all day on Monday from industry colleagues and friends, on the first death anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The 34-year-old actor was found dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14 last year.
