Paan Singh Tomar Writer Sanjay Chouhan Passes Away At 62

The funeral ceremony is scheduled for today at 12.30 pm at Mumbai's Oshiwara crematorium. 

New Delhi: Sanjay Chouhan, who wrote Paan Singh Tomar, has passed away. On January 12th, he left this world at the age of 62. hospital in Mumbai. Sanjay Chouhan reportedly had a chronic liver condition, as reported by the Times Of India. The author, who had been experiencing liver cirrhosis, was brought to a hospital in Mumbai around 10 days ago after experiencing internal bleeding and a loss of consciousness.

He is survived by his wife Sarita and daughter Sara. The funeral ceremony is scheduled for today at 12.30 pm at Mumbai's Oshiwara crematorium. 

Sanjay Chouhan penned the scripts, screenplays, and dialogue for a wide variety of films. He got a Filmfare Award for Best Story for his work on the screenplay of the 2011 film ‘I Am Kalam’. 

Avinash Das, a fellow director and close friend of Sanjay's, posted a lengthy homage to the late writer on Instagram. Avinash reflected on the time when Sanjay served as an industry mentor. Avinash lamented the passing of the writer and recalled his sense of humour in a post he made in Hindi.

Sanjay Chouhan started his career as a journalist in Delhi after having spent his childhood in Bhopal, where he was also born and raised. Following his success as a writer for the crime-themed television series ‘Bhanwar’, which Sony TV began airing in the late 1990s, he relocated to Mumbai.
