Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' has seen a shift in its release strategy following the Indian Armed Forces’ Operation Sindoor. Originally set to hit theatres on May 9, the film will now premiere digitally on Amazon Prime Video on May 16, skipping its theatrical debut entirely.
Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf OTT release announced
On Thursday, the film’s producers issued an official statement to share the update. The statement read, “In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16-only on Prime Video, worldwide”.
“While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating this film with you in theaters, the spirit of the nation comes first. JAI HIND,” it added. The press screenings slated for today in Delhi and Mumbai have also been called off.

Operation Sindoor saw Indian strikes on nine terrorist sites, including Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad. These locations were key hubs for planning attacks on India. Muridke and Bahawalpur, in particular, housed Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) headquarters, where Masood Azhar and top commanders were sheltered.
About Bhool Chuk Maaf
Starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ is helmed by Karan Sharma. The story follows Ranjan, played by Rao, who is all set to marry his girlfriend Titli, until he gets trapped in a bizarre time loop, reliving the morning of his Haldi ceremony over and over. The film also features acclaimed actors Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, and Raghubir Yadav, and is produced by Maddock Films.
