New Delhi: The second season of the popular web series Asur's premiere date has finally been revealed. Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti, a powerful team, will return as Asur looms large and threatens to rule the world. The crime drama has been given a second season renewal and is set to premiere on OTT on June 1.

The first season of the show, which premiered in March 2020, ended on an abrupt note, leaving viewers to wonder what would become of the mysterious killer and the terrifying events that had taken place. The second season's first look promo gives viewers a sneak peek at the plot, which will combine the enchanting world of mythology and the genius of forensic science.

The voice-over in the promo, which was released on Wednesday night, says that the world needs a "new order" as we are introduced to each character. In the new promo, the mask that was frequently put on in the first season of 'Asur' also makes many appearances. As the teaser draws to a close, the makers have once more hinted at Dhananjay Rajpoot, played by Arshad, having a darker side.

The television series' first season was released in 2020 on VOOT. It was co-written by Gaurav Shukla, Niren Bhatt, Abhijeet Khuman, and Pranay Patwardhan and was directed by Oni Sen. The ensemble star cast from the first season, which also includes Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Amey Wagh, Meiyang Chang, and Gaurav Arora, will return for the second season.

Meanwhile, Arshad will also appear opposite Sanjay Dutt in an upcoming comedy movie that has yet to be named. On the other hand, Barun will appear in the upcoming Netflix OTT drama series 'Kohrra', which is an investigation drama.
