New Delhi: The biggest night in the entertainment industry, the 95th Academy Awards is being presented at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The show will feature a number of international stars vying for their favourites to win the coveted Oscars trophy. The 95th Academy Awards taking place on March 12 in Los Angeles, is available to stream on a variety of platforms, including YouTube, Hulu Live TV, Direct TV, FUBO TV, and AT&T TV with a subscription. It can live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar in India from 5:30 AM IST on March 13, 2023.
Interestingly, this year is going to be special for Indians, who are cheering for their superhit film- 'RRR' after it bagged the Best Original Song nomination for 'Naatu Naatu'. India will also proudly watch Deepika Padukone walking the red carpet and appearing on that glittering platform as one of the presenters. She is the third Indian presenter to appear on the Oscars platform, following Priyanka Chopra in 2016 and model Persis Khambatta in 1980.
Television presenter and comedian Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the 95th Academy Awards and this is his third year into this. All eyes will be on him this time, though, as he chooses to address the infamous slap-gate controversy involving Chris Rock and Will Smith from the previous year.
Additionally, Ashley Graham, Vanessa Hudgens, and our very own desi-at-heart Lilly Singh will be hosting the Oscars pre-show.
This year marks the first time that Hollywood's biggest night ‘Oscars’ does not have a red carpet. It has been a tradition since 1961, but this year is the first time the carpet at the Academy Awards isn't red. The red carpet at this year's Academy Awards is a "champagne" shade, allowing celebrities to show off their most lavish and daring ensembles.
The Academy unveiled the initial list of presenters for the 95th Oscars on March 2, 2023. The list included Deepika Padukone, Emily Blunt, Riz Ahmed, Dwayne Johnson, Glenn Close, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Connelly, Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Majors, Troy Kotsur, Melissa McCarthy, Janelle Monáe, Questlove, Zoe Saldaa, and Donnie Yen.
The second group of presenters include Danai Gurira, Jessica Chastain, Salma Hayek Pinault, Elizabeth Banks, Antonio Banderas, John Cho, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Garfield, Hugh Grant, Florence Pugh, and Sigourney Weaver.
All the songs that are competing in the 'Best Original Song' category will be performed at the Oscars. Indians will be proud to watch the world dancing to the tunes of 'Naatu Naatu' at the 95th Academy Awards as the popular number will be sung by Rahul Sipligunk And Kaala Bhairava.
Additionally, Rihanna will also be rendering her soulful song from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', titled 'Lift Me Up'. 'Applause', which starred Jacqueline Fernandez, will also be performed at the Oscars.
Another special performance of the night will be given by legendary Rock artiste Lenny Kravitz who would honour the people who passed away last year in the 'In Memorium' segment of the ceremony.
