Nora Fatehi Posts Cryptic Message Following Defamation Lawsuit Against Jacqueline Fernandez
Nora Fatehi has sued actor Jacqueline Fernandez in relation to the Rs 200 crore extortion case.
New Delhi: Nora Fatehi has shared a cryptic message about her upbringing in the midst of the defamation suit controversy involving Jacqueline Fernandez. In connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case, the actor recently filed a lawsuit against Fernandez.
Nora stated on Instagram stories that her parents did not bring her up to take advantage of other people. “My parents didn't raise me to take advantage of people. My intentions will always be pure. We ain't the same,” the post read and she also added a smiling face emoji with it.
Many people have speculated that the post is a subtle attack on Fernandez even though she hasn't explicitly addressed the actor. Over the past few months, the Enforcement Directorate questioned both of them in relation to the extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
In response to Fernandez's written plea before the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002) court, Fatehi filed a defamation lawsuit against her on December 12.
Nora on Monday filed a criminal complaint before a Delhi court for allegedly defaming her by “unfairly dragging” her name into Rs 200 crore extortion case.
According to PTI, Fatehi also named 15 media outlets as defendants in her complaint, which is scheduled to be heard on December 19.
Speaking about the suit, Jacqueline Fernandez's lawyer claimed that the actor never said anything negative about Nora.
In an interview with ETimes, Jacqueline’s lawyer Prashant Patil said, “Jacqueline has not made any statement in front of any electronic or print media against Nora or for that matter, any other person. She has consciously avoided talking about the Enforcement Directorate proceedings. Till date she has maintained the sanctity of law and because the matter is sub-judice she has always avoided to speak in front of print and social media. Having said that, we have not received any official copy of the suit filed by Nora. Once we receive an official confirmation or an order of the Honourable Court, we will respond to it legally.”
Meanwhile, Jacqueline Fernandez was given regular bail by the court on November 15. In the supplementary chargesheet submitted by the enforcement directorate, she was listed as an accused.
