YE MAT DEKHO: Censor Board chops bra shot, Savita bhabhi from Kat- Sid's 'Baar Baar Dekho'

New Delhi: After the numerous cuts that the Censor Board had put in Udta Punjab, the next set of issues that we are going to see is in Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Baar Baar Dekho’. The film when sent to CBFC, it was suggested that two cuts should be there in the movie for sure. One was an offensive shot of a brassier and another reference to the pornographic comic series 'Savita Bhabhi'. We understand how a scene referring to Savita bhabhi can be an objection with the censors but we don’t understand the logic behind an innerwear shot that was openly presented in other movies such as Kya Kool Hai Hum and Grand Masti! A member of 'Baar Baar Dekho' team told DNA, “We don’t live in times where women’s innerwear is never spoken of in public. In fact, even as late as 1995, there was a scene featuring Kajol in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Moreover, BBD is directed by a woman (Nitya Mehra). To assume she’d use the lingerie scene for titillation is absurd.” What about the makers? Well, they are okay with the cuts and have settled for a UA certification. What is the guideline that CBFC should maintain? How far it can go? What are your views on the same? Do share with us in the comments section below.
