As 'Pathaan' Fever Grips Nation, Take A Look At Shah Rukh Khan's Last 5 Movies Box Office Collections

Interestingly, 'Pathaan' also happens to be the biggest mega-film release of 2023.

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan', one of the most-awaited films of 2023, released in theatres today on January 25. The film garnered considerable appreciation and anticipation way before release considering that it is SRK's biggest release after 4 years. Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in 'Zero' with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in 2018. While advance booking numbers have shown great promise, it is also the early trends, some of which have suggested that the film will open at Rs. 40 crores on its opening day. Whether or not the numbers are met, here's wishing the makers of 'Pathaan' the very best.

Interestingly, 'Pathaan' also happens to be the biggest mega-film release of 2023. It has been helmed by 'WAR' director Siddharth Anand whose previous film was also a big blockbuster. And, with SRK headlining 'Pathaan', the expectation of a box office success is really high.

However, SRK's last five films have performed decently at the box office. Barring, 'Raees' and Dear Zindagi', his other three films which have released over the span of 2016-2018 have been flops despite also being major experiments on the star's part.

Let's take a look at Shah Rukh Khan's last 5 film's box office collections.

'Fan' which was released on April 15, 2016 saw SRK in a double role. The film despite receiving mixed reviews with many critics appreciating the film was a box office disaster. The film bombed at the box office and collected only Rs. 84,03,25,000, nett gross as per BoxOfficeIndia.

Shah Rukh Khan's next film 'Dear Zindagi' alongside Alia Bhatt, in which he portrayed the role of a psychologist performed decently. 'Dear Zindagi' released on November 25, 2016 and collected Rs. 66,46,75,000 nett gross at the box office( BoxOfficeIndia.com)

'Raees' was a hit and the film released on January 25, 2017 and collected Rs. 1,28,77,50,000.

2017 saw the release of another SRK film 'Jab Harry Met Sejal'. There was a lot of expectation on this film considering it had been directed by Imtiaz Ali and that Anushka Sharma and SRK were reuniting after hits like 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. However, 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' also bombed at the box office and collected Rs. 62,00,50,000 nett gross.

'Zero' starring SRK, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma released on December 21, 2018. The film also bombed at the box office and collected Rs. 88,74,50,000 nett gross. Despite Shah Rukh Khan receiving applause for his performance, 'Zero' did not do well in terms of numbers.

With the performance of Shah Rukh Khan's last five films, 'Pathaan' has a lot of pressure to perform as well. All the best to the team.
