Vishal Bhardwaj Recalls Thinking 'Kaminey' Won't Work Because Of The Conflicts On Sets: 'Nobody Was Getting Along'
Vishal Bharadwaj acknowledged that his forecast didn't pan out with his 2009 movie Kaminey because of issues on the production.
New Delhi: Vishal Bhardwaj has produced outstanding films from Maqbool to Haider, leaving his mark on the history of Hindi film. The director talked about his capacity to predict a project's success as it is being developed in a recent interview. He did, however, acknowledge that his forecast didn't pan out with his 2009 movie Kaminey because of issues on the production.
When Vishal was asked if he can predict a project's success while being filmed for an interview on the YouTube channel Unfiltered by Samdish, the renowned director said, "Haan while making a film, you get to know. But one or two times I was wrong, when I thought the film won’t but it worked. This was the case with Kaminey. While making the film, I was feeling like how will we do this. There was so much conflict between Director of Photography (DOP) and the cast, between DOP and the production and between production designer and the production. It was chaos of some another level. Every day after reaching the set for an hour and a half, I had to see what is the new problem of this day.”
Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Amole Gupte starred as the main characters in Vishal Bhardwaj's film Kaminey, which he also wrote and directed. The movie focused on the competition between twin brothers, one of whom lisps and the other of whom stutters, over the course of a single day, set against the backdrop of the Mumbai underworld. The film was well-liked by critics and successful at the box office.
Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi played the main characters in Vishal Bhardwaj's most recent movie, Khufiya, which debuted on Netflix. The spy novel Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan served as the inspiration for the movie.
