‘The Kashmir Files' Made Tax-Free in These States. Check Details
‘The Kashmir Files’ has been deemed tax-free in a number of states since more and more people are going to the movies to see it.
New Delhi: 'The Kashmir Files', which was released on March 11, 2022, has received a great deal of attention and acclaim from the Indian audience. It depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir after the initiation of systematic executions by Pakistan-backed militants in the region.
Ministers from many states, including the Prime Minister of India, have lauded the film.
'The Kashmir Files' fim has been granted tax-free status by the Gujarat government, which was announced on Sunday. Other states, including Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Karnataka, have joined Gujarat in exempting this film from paying entertainment taxes.
Pramod Sawant, the former chief minister of Goa and a leading member of the BJP, stated today that the film would be exempt from taxation in Goa.
Earlier this evening, the Tripura government also decided to make the movie tax-free.
Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, was one of the first to make the film tax-free in order to encourage more young people to see this film.
It was earlier declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh by the state's Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who said that the film should be seen by as many people as possible.
Actress Yami Gautam also tweeted in the evening expressing how relatable the story is as she is married to a Kashmiri Pandit.
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Zee Studios, the film stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi in pivotal roles.
