Thackeray: Ahead of trailer launch, CBFC raises objections on certain scenes in the biopic!

The drama film is based on the life of Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has raised objections to the upcoming Bollywood biopic 'Thackeray'. The drama film is based on the life of Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena. According to the makers of the movie, CBFC has raised objections on four dialogues and two scenes and have asked them to make necessary changes. The makers of the film also stated that they are trying to solve the issue with CBFC, according to the law and are hopeful that it will soon be sorted out. "Yes, they have raised objections on some dialogues and scenes, four dialogues and two scenes to be precise. We are legally dealing the matter with CBFC and we hope the matter will be sorted out soon," said Shiv Sena Parliamentarian and producer of the film Sanjay Raut. The trailer launch of the film will take place on later today in Mumbai with the film's cast along with the presence of Thackeray's son and present Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, his family and other leaders of the party. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is essaying the role of Bal Thackeray in the film, which also features Amrita Rao as Meena Tai Thackeray. 'Thackeray' is slated to release on January 23, 2019, which is also the birth anniversary of the late Shiv Sena founder. The biographical drama is helmed by Abhijit Panse.
