'She Was Not An Alcoholic': When Sushant Singh Rajput Shared Post To Confirm His Break-Up With Ankita Lokhande
Sushant Singh Rajput had shared a tweet in May 2016 to confirm his break-up with Ankita Lokhande.
Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput, who was known for his acting prowess, passed away on June 14, 2020. His untimely demise sent shock waves across the film industry and left his family members and fans teary-eyed. The ‘Chhichhore’ star, who made a successful transition from TV to cinema, grabbed several eyeballs when he confirmed his split with former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande.

Sushant and Ankita, who played the lead roles in ‘Pavitra Rishta’, dated each other for seven years before calling it quits. The former couple fell in love on the sets of their popular TV show, which was produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Sushant and Ankita’s break-up set several tongues wagging as they were considered one of the most loved couples in telly land. The ‘Raabta’ actor posted a tweet in May 2016 to put an end to rumours about his relationship.
"Neither she was an alcoholic nor I am a womaniser. People do grow apart & it's unfortunate. Period!," SSR’s tweet read.

Gossip mills were buzzing with the rumours that Sushant started dating his ‘Raabta’ co-star Kriti Sanon after parting ways with Ankita. Both Sushant and Kriti denied the speculations about their romance, which created lot of buzz on social media.
Sushant was also linked to his ‘Kedarnath’ co-star Ali Khan, who made her Bollywood debut opposite him. While the two tinsel town stars never confirmed their relationship, SSR’s friend Samuel Haokip claimed that they were ‘totally in love’ during the promotions of Abhishek Kapoor’s film.

Haokip shared a post on Instagram after Sushant’s demise and said that Sara broke up with the ‘Kai Po Che’ actor after the box office failure of ‘Sonchiriya’.
June 14, 2021 will mark the one-year death anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor’s last film ‘Dil Bechara’ premiered on a leading OTT platform in July 24, 2020. The romantic drama co-starring Sanjana Sanghi received a massive response from the audience upon its release on Disney+Hotstar.
