New Delhi: In a significant stride towards inclusivity and accessibility within the entertainment sector, the upcoming Hindi film 'Srikanth' starring Rajkummar Rao, emerges as a source of empowerment for the disabled community. Representing a pioneering venture, the film stands as the first-ever all-inclusive Hindi movie, boasting a star-studded cast of over 70 actors with disabilities and offering accessibility features for the visually and hearing impaired.

National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) partners with PVR INOX

The collaboration between the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) and PVR INOX, India's premier cinema exhibitor, marks a pivotal moment in the realm of cinematic representation. In alignment with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting aimed at fostering inclusivity in Indian films, 'Srikanth' champions diversity.

In adherence to recent mandates, 'Srikanth' is made accessible to audiences with disabilities through specialized formats catering to the visually and hearing impaired. PVR INOX has taken proactive measures to ensure accessibility within its cinemas, boasting 1600 wheelchair-friendly seats across various locations to accommodate patrons with disabilities.

The special screening of 'Srikanth' on May 10, 2024, at 10 AM, promises to be a celebration of inclusivity and diversity, with reduced ticket prices offered as a gesture of inclusiveness. Speaking on the collaboration, Arman Ali, Executive Director of NCPEDP, lauded PVR INOX's commitment to enhancing accessibility and promoting broader inclusivity in cinema.

Echoing this sentiment, Gautam Dutta, CEO of revenue and operations at PVR INOX Ltd., emphasized the significance of hosting the special screening, highlighting the company's dedication to creating inclusive cinematic experiences for all patrons.

The film ‘Srikanth’ is set to hit theatres on May 10, 2024. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani and backed by T-Series, the movie aims to honour Srikanth Bolla's spirit and his pioneering efforts in creating inclusive employment opportunities. 

With stellar performances from actors like Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar, ‘Srikanth’ is set to leave a lasting impact on audiences nationwide.
