Sorry, Not This Time: Ali Fazal Will Not Appear As Zafar In Fukrey 3, Promises Fans To Return Sooner

Actor Ali Fazal will not be returning as Zafar in the third installment of 'Fukrey'.

New Delhi: Actor Ali Fazal, who is part of the original cast of 'Fukrey', will not be returning as Zafar in the third installment of the comedy flick. He stated that due to as clashing schedules he couldn't reprise his role in the film.

The poster for 'Fukrey 3', which did not feature Ali Fazal, was unveiled to announce the release date of the film, caused a stir. He has since released a statement stating that he won't be appearing in the forthcoming film.

"So Zafar aayega ya nahi? Sab yahi puch rahe hain baar baar. Sorry saathiyon, iss baari nahi. Zafar bhai ko kabhi kabhi Guddu bhaiya bhi banna padhta hai. Aur do universes overlap ho jaate hain kabhi kabhi. (Everyone is asking if Zafar will come or. But Sorry, not this time. Zafar sometimes has become Guddu bhaiya. Overlapping happens in two universes.), Ali Fazal said in a statement.

"Once a fukra always a fukra so I am around. . . But I won't be coming on screen for the third outing of the Fukras, Bholi and Panditji! I would have wanted to be part of it but time and schedules didn't allow me to. I will be back in the future at some juncture, maybe sooner than you expect. Zafar will be back after a small detour to entertain you guys," the actor added.

Meanwhile, the previous movies in the 'Fukrey'series featured Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Richa Chadha. Earlier this week, makers of the film shared two new posters and announced the release date. 

'Fukrey 3' is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced under Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment.
