On Sunday, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut criticised Sood through ‘Saamna’ in his column, sarcastically calling him Mahatma.

Sonu Sood, who has been receiving a lot of praise for his efforts in sending migrants labourers (stuck in Mumbai due to covid 19 lockdown) back to their respective homes in various parts of India, has found himself in surrounded by controversy recently.
On Sunday, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut criticised Sood through ‘Saamna’ in his Sunday column Rokhthok, sarcastically calling him Mahatma.
On Sunday evening itself, Sood reached Matoshree to meet Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son & Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray. Later on Aaditya Thackeray even heaped praise on the actor for his good works.
But looks like the controversy doesn’t end soon! As Sonu Sood who is often clicked waving good byes to the migrants when they leave in bus or train was denied entry to Bandra terminus platform to meet the migrants in person. Sonu Sood had arranged a special train for migrant labourers to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh and when he reached station he was denied entry to plat form and he had to return from outside the station. Sonu Sood was seen talking to the railway officials for around 45 minutes at the RPF office and when he came out the train had already left the platform for its destination. When ABP News contacted Sood and asked him why he was not allowed to enter the platform, he said “ I don’t care whether I am allowed to enter platform or not, my job is to ensure that these migrants reach their homes safely and I was here to wish them.” ABP News also contacted the police officials present there and asked for the reasons why Sonu was denied, they responded that they have received order for the same from Mumbai Railway’s divisional manager. Meanwhile, when Sonu was asked to react on Sanjay Raut’s critical comment, he said he is receiving full support from all quarters and is thankful to everyone coming in support. Earlier on June 1, Soon had sent over 1000 migrants via train from Thane station in Mumbai. This evening @SonuSood met up with @CMOMaharashtra Uddhav Thackeray ji along with Minister @AslamShaikh_MLA ji and me.
