New Delhi: The romantic drama ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ returned to theatres with a bang, earning more than its lifetime revenues in just two days. Thanks to its heartfelt love story featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane, the film has become a beloved cult classic among moviegoers, which was originally released in 2016.

‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, which was directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, garnered an amazing 4 crore on Friday, and another 5 crore on Saturday. On its first day of release, Sanam Teri Kasam sold 67,000 seats via pre booking at major national chains. Upon its first release in 2016, the tragic love story grossed Rs 15 crore worldwide and Rs 8 crore net in India for its lifetime earnings.

The film shocked the industry on the first day of its re-release by earning over Rs 4.25 crore rupees, more than three times the amount it first made on the opening day in 2016. Meanwhile, there has been a significant growth in ticket sales for this re-release, thanks to the immense demand from fans.

The film is now racing through theatres, competing with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor's ‘Loveyapa’ and Himesh Reshammiya and Prabhudeva’s ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’, and it shows no signs of slowing down. On Sunday, ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ may get a further boost, perhaps increasing its opening weekend total to almost Rs 15 crore, according to Sacnilk.
