Wajid Khan’s Mother Also Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Talented music composer Wajid Khan, who passed away on Monday (June 1), had also contracted COVID-19.

New Delhi: Wajid Khan, of composer duo Sajid-Wajid, left for his heavenly abode on Monday (June 1) in Mumbai. He was 42. His sudden demise has left the industry and fans in a state of shock. ABP News has now received exclusive information that Sajid and Wajid’s mother Razina Khan has also contracted Coronavirus.

A reliable source told us that Wajid Khan’s mother Razina tested positive for COVID-19 and she is currently admitted at Surana Sethia hospital in Mumbai. Wajid was also hospitalized at the same hospital. He passed away at the hospital in Chembur due to kidney related issues. The 'Dabangg 3' music director, known for composing songs like 'Munni Badnam' and 'Palat', was also infected with Coronavirus.

Another source on condition of anonymity said, “Wajid’s mother Razina had already contracted Coronavirus before the late musician was infected with the virus. Wajid, who was suffering from kidney and throat infection, tested positive for COVID-19 later.”

“Sajid-Wajid’s mother is better now and her condition has improved. She stayed in Surana Sethia hospital to take care of her ailing son. However, she contracted COVID-19 after she came in contact with other Coronavirus patients at the hospital,” the source further added.

Wajid Khan was buried at Versova cemetery on Monday afternoon. Sajid Khan got emotional as he bid farewell to his brother. Wajid's wife and children also paid their last respects to the talented musician. They were spotted wearing masks and gloves at the cremation ground.

Several Bollywood celebs including Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif mourned Wajid's death on social media. They also offered to their condolence to Khan family.

Salman, who will be next seen in 'Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai', tweeted, "Wajid Vil always love, respect, remember n miss u as a person n ur talent, Love u n may your beautiful soul rest in peace."

Sajid-Wajid had composed Salman's song 'Bhai Bhai', which was released on Eid 2020.
