'I Have His Eyes, My Son Has His Smile': Twinkle Khanna Remembers Father Rajesh Khanna On His 9th Death Anniversary With Unseen Video

Rajesh Khanna made his acting debut with the 1966 film ‘Aakhri Khat’ which was India’s first official entry to the Oscars.

Mumbai: Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna is being considered as the ‘First Superstar’ of Bollywood. One of the highest-paid actors of the 70s and 80s, Rajesh Khanna has featured in 15 consecutive solo commercially successful films between 1969 to 1971.

Rajesh Khanna made his acting debut with the 1966 film ‘Aakhri Khat’ which was India’s first official entry to the Oscars. Having appeared in more than 180 films in his career, Rajesh Khanna breathed his last on July 18, 2012. The ‘Amar Prem’ actor was reportedly suffering from cancer.

Today, on the occasion of his 9th death anniversary, his daughter Twinkle Khanna shared a video of the late actor and wrote, "I have his eyes, my son has his smile and the world has pieces of him embedded in their hearts. He still lives on.."

Netizens also remembered the fine actor for his contribution to the Indian film industry.

Rajesh Khanna got married to Dimple Kapadia in 1973. The couple has two daughters together – Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. Akshay Kumar is his son-in-law as he married his daughter Twinkle. Rajesh and Dimple separated few years after their marriage and maintained an amicable relationship.

Speaking on the professional front, Khanna was last seen featuring in the 2014 movie ‘Riyasat’. The movie was released posthumously after his death.
