Pasoori Singer Shae Gill On Remake Of Her Song In Satyaprem Ki Katha: 'If You Don’t Like It Then Don't Listen To It'

Satyaprem Ki Katha’s song ‘Pasoori Nu’ has been getting a lot of hate since its release. Shae Gill, the singer of the original version, has said that people shouldn’t be hateful towards the new version.

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha’s latest song ‘Pasoori Nu’ is a recreated version of the popular Pakistani song ‘Pasoori’ by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill.

New Delhi: Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha’s latest song ‘Pasoori Nu’ has been getting a lot of hate since its release. The song is a recreated version of the popular Pakistani song ‘Pasoori’ by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill. The recreated version has been sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. Singer Shae Gill has said that people shouldn’t be hateful towards the new version.

Taking to her Instagram story, Shae said that since she doesn’t own the rights to the original song, the decision to recreate it was not hers. She also thanked people for all their love for the original version but asked them to stop spreading hatred and that they should not listen to the new version if they don’t like it. 

Shae Gill said, “I have been getting a lot of questions regarding whether this was my decision. Guys, I don't own the song, I don't have the rights, so I didn't sell it. I actually found out through you guys about the remake of the song.” 

She further added, “I also want to talk about the hate that people have been sending towards the new song. I understand that you all love the original Pasoori so much, I am so grateful for the love, I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am. But also at the same time, I don’t want you to be sending hate to someone else. Just look at it as a rendition rather than a remake. May be that will help. And if it's something that you don't like at all, I would say don't listen to it. Instead of sending hate, don’t listen to it because not liking something and talking about it in your home is still fine but if you are publicly humiliating and insulting someone then it’s not very nice, is it?” 

The lyrics of ‘Pasoori Nu’ are by Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi. The music is by Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi.
