'Everything Everywhere All at Once' was the biggest winner at the 95th Academy Awards. It was a historic day for India as ‘The Elephant Whisperer’ and ‘Naatu Naatu’ also won.

Oscars 2023: Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert's film, 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' was the biggest winner at the 95th Academy Awards. The film, which was nominated for eleven categories, won a total of seven Oscars, including the Best Picture honour.

The film, an adventure about a Chinese-American laundromat owner grappling with an IRS audit and inter-dimensional attackers, stars Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

'Everything Everywhere All at Once' took home the Best Supporting Actor, Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Film Editing and Best Supporting Actress.

The victory is a big one for A24, the indie studio that pushed the zany film to an impressive $100 million at the box office, a stunning achievement at a time when the market for arthouse movies has shrivelled.

The studio also managed the rare feat of nabbing all four acting honours -- three of which were won by 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' and one by 'The Whale'.

It was a historic day for India as ‘The Elephant Whisperer’ and ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Academy Awards for Best Documentary Short and Best Original Song respectively.

Music composer of ‘Naatu Naatu’ M.M. Keeravaani said on receiving the honour: "Thank you Academy. I grew up listening to The Carpenters... and here I am at the Oscars. There was only one wish on my mind... So was Rajamouli's and my family... 'RRR', pride of every Indian. Thank you."

Netflix's short documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers' is produced by Guneet Monga and directed by Kartiki Gonsalves. After being presented the honour, Kartiki, who was accompanied with producer Guneet Monga, said: "I stand here to speak today about the sacred bond between us and the natural world for the respect of indigenous communities and empathy towards other living beings we share our space with and finally for coexistence. Thank you to the academy for recognising our film, highlighting indigenous people and animals."
