The action thriller co-starring Vishal Jethwa as the antagonist has started on a positive note at the box office. The action thriller received rave reviews from the critics and it is reflecting at the box office. ‘Mardaani 2’, which has been directed by Gopi Puthran, minted Rs 3.80 crore on its opening day. The strong word-of-the-mouth publicity is expected to help the film rake in big moolah. Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first day box office of ‘Mardaani 2’ on Twitter. 'Mardaani', which released in 2014, had collected Rs 3.46 crore on the opening day. Rani's previous release 'Hichki' had minted Rs 3.32 on the first day.
