‘Gully Boy’ Actor Vijay Raaz Granted Bail After Getting Arrested In Alleged Molestation Case

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz popularly known for his comic-role in the 2004 movie ‘Run’ has been granted bail after he got arrested yesterday for allegedly molesting a woman crew member. NCB Reveals According to a report of IANS, during the shoot of Vidya Balan starrer ‘Sherni’, Vijay Raaz was arrested for allegedly molesting a female crew member on the sets. The ‘Made In Heaven’ actor was arrested yesterday and has been released on bail today. Atul Kulkarni, Additional Superintendent of Police, Gondia, Maharashtra, told IANS, “Some shoot was on, a crew member filed complaint for molestation and we registered it. It happened in Gondia. He was arrested yesterday and released on bail today.” “The court has said he has to appear before the investigation officer whenever needed”, added the official. Vijay Raaz began his career with a very small but impactful role in Ram Gopal Varma’s 2000 movie ‘Jungle’ starring Suniel Shetty, Fardeen Khan and Urmila Matondkar in the lead roles. After Naseeruddin Shah saw him perform at the National School of Drama (NSD), the ‘A Wednesday’ actor recommended Raaz to Mahesh Bhatt for ‘Bhopal Express’ and to Mira Nair for ‘Monsoon Wedding’. ‘Monsoon Wedding’ proved to be a successful film and Vijay started getting many roles post that. His first lead role was in the 2003 movie ‘Raghu Romeo’ where he portrayed the life of a confused lower-class Indian fellow. The ‘Gully Boy’ actor also debuted as a director with the 2014 movie ‘Kya Dilli Kya Lahore’ which is a war film set in the backdrop of 1948, post India’s Independence war. Apart from the director himself, this film also stars Manu Rishi, Raj Zutshi and Vishwajeet Pradhan in pivotal roles. On the professional front, Raaz was last seen in ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ and ‘Lootcase’. He will next be seen starring in Manoj Bajpayee and Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming movie ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’ and also in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
