Drugs Case: NCB Summons Karan Johar, Asks Filmmaker To Share Details About 2019's Party Video

The NCB a notice to Karan Johar for questioning to gather information about the party, which he hosted at his house in July 2019. The filmmaker has been asked to share the details by December 18.

The Narcotics Control Bureau on Thursday (December 17) issued summon to filmmaker Karan Johar for questioning in connection with the alleged Bollywood drugs case. The drugs law enforcement agency has asked the producer-director to produce documents/electronic evidence in regard with the video from his house party, which went viral on the internet, a report in ANI said. According to NCB sources, Karan Johar is not required to mark his appearance before the agency; he can send his representative. The agency has directed the filmmaker to provide details about the viral video from his house party which was organized in July 2019. He has been asked to 'explain the details of the video' by Friday (December 18).
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had registered a complaint with NCB's Chief Rakesh Asthana over the alleged usage of drugs in the party hosted at Johar's house in 2019. Several A-listers including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor attended the house party. The NCB has grilled several Bollywood celebs including Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal in the last few months in connection with the drugs case. The agency also summoned Arjun Rampal for questioning on Wednesday; however, the 'Om Shanti Om' actor sought a week's time from the agency citing personal work. The 'Rock On' actor, who appeared before the NCB on November 13, was quizzed for seven hours. Also READ: Arjun Rampal Asks Time Till Dec 22 From NCB, Says Busy With Personal Work The NCB had raided comedienne Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa's house in Mumbai. The couple was arrested after banned drugs was reportedly found from their residence. They were later released on bail. The alleged drugs case, which has set several tongues wagging, stemmed out from Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The NCB started its investigation in Sushant's death case after receiving official communication from the Enforcement Directorate about the chats related to drug usage and consumption. Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others were arrested under various sections of the NDPS Act in September 2020. The Bombay Hight Court granted bail to Rhea in October 2020 on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. Earlier this month, her brother Showik walked out from jail after staying behind the bars for nearly three months. Watch this space for more updates!
