Anurag Kashyap #MeToo Row: Actress Huma Qureshi Says ‘I Feel Really Angry To Be Dragged Into This Mess’

New Delhi: Anurag Kashyap has been recently alleged by actress Payal Ghosh of sexually assaulting her. In one of her recent interviews, she claimed that the ‘Black Friday’ filmmaker got naked in front of her and forced himself on her. Though the director has slammed all the claims saying that the allegations are ‘baseless’, Payal Ghosh, on the other hand, will reportedly lodge a legal complaint against the ‘Dev D’ director. Many Bollywood celebrities came out in support of Kashyap including Taapsee Pannu, Anubhav Sinha, Hansal Mehta, Ram Gopal Varma and others. The list also includes both his wives Aarti Bajaj and Kalki Koechlin. Recently, the director’s ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ actress Huma Qureshi issued a statement after her name got dragged by Payal Ghosh along with Richa Chadha and Mahie Gill for compromising with Anurag Kashyap for getting roles in his movies. Huma Qureshi in her statement revealed that the ‘Gulaal’ director is a very good friend of hers and as per her personal experience, he has neither misbehaved with her or with anyone else. The ‘Bell Bottom’ star’s statement read, “Anurag and I last worked together in 2012-13 and he is a dear friend and an extremely talented director. In my personal experience and to my knowledge he has neither misbehaved with me or anyone else. However, anyone who claims to be abused must report it to the authorities, the police and the judiciary.” The ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ actress added, “I chose not to comment till now because I don't believe in social media fights and media trials. I feel really angry at being dragged into this mess. I feel angry not just for myself but also every woman whose years of hard work and struggle gets reduced to such baseless conjecture and allegations in their workplace. Please let's refrain from this narrative. It is the joint responsibility of women and men both to carefully protect the sanctity of #MeToo.” She concluded her statement saying, “This is my final response. Please do not approach me to make any more statements on this matter.”
