Akshay Kumar Joins 'Pathaan' Director Siddharth Anand For An Action Entertainer: Report
Akshay Kumar teams up with filmmaker Milan Luthria, while producer Siddharth Anand is behind the scenes of the action flick.
New Delhi: Returning to his action origins, Akshay Kumar will be reunited with filmmaker Milan Luthria for an intriguing new project. Produced by Siddharth Anand's Marflix, the studio responsible for ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Fighter’, the actor will reprise his role as the "Khiladi" character in an upcoming action flick. The action star's loyal fan base may rejoice because Akshay Kumar is going back to his origins with a new and thrilling take.
An insider with knowledge of the project said that Akshay Kumar is overjoyed to be directing this high-budget action film. According to an insider quoted by Pinkvilla, “Siddharth has got together the director-writer duo of Milan Luthria and Rajat Arora to develop an action film set against the zone of a vigilante film. When the script was locked, the trio unanimously felt that Akshay Kumar is the best fit for the film and on hearing the script, Akshay also felt that this is the right film for him to associate with at this point of time.”
The insider added, “Akshay loves the action space and is always up for challenges. The Milan Luthria directorial will see him in a never seen before avatar, that does justice to the legacy created by him in action. Sid and Mamta are excited for this new collaboration with the Khiladi.”
Akshay Kumar’s Work Front
Akshay's last film ‘Khel Khel Mein’ was released on Friday, August 15. His upcoming projects include ‘Housefull 5’, ‘Jolly LLB 3’, and ‘Welcome to The Jungle’. The actor will soon be appearing in ‘Sky Force’ as well. Playing the role of Sushil Kumar Shinde's maternal grandson, actor Veer Pahariya will make his acting debut in this film. Shinde was the former chief minister of Maharashtra. Actress Nirmat Kaur will feature prominently in the film with Veer Pahariya and Akshay Kumar. Currently, there is no word on when it will be released.
