Ajay Devgn is currently relishing the success of 'Singham Again' and has been engaging in interviews to promote the film. In a recent discussion, Devgn commented on the current landscape of male actors in the industry, expressing that many of them come across as ‘boys’ rather than ‘men.’

Ajay Devgn on current male actors in industry

During his appearance on 'The Ranveer Show', Ajay Devgn shared his perspective on male actors in Bollywood. He referenced stars like Jackie Shroff and Sunny Deol, emphasizing that they projected a ‘manly’ presence on screen.

He said, “In today’s world, you don’t see a dominating male personality. All are boys; you don’t see men-men. In the earlier generation, we saw men—even in my generation, from Jackie Shroff to Amitabh Bachchan, they were all men."

Devgn further elaborated using examples from his generation, mentioning Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol: “When Akshay Kumar was thrashing ten people or Sunny Deol was pulling out a hand pump, we would clap because we believed they could do it. In today’s generation, we don’t feel that anyone could actually do that."

He also pointed out that the shift in the industry’s male image is due to a ‘change in upbringing.’ Without naming specific actors, he remarked, “There’s been a change in upbringing, and you don’t become a man just by building a body. There’s an attitude and approach toward life that’s missing."

Known for his portrayals of strong, masculine characters who perform daring stunts and take on adversaries, Devgn has long embodied the quintessential action hero. Most recently, he reprised his iconic role as Bajirao Singham in Rohit Shetty’s 'Singham Again', starring alongside Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor. The film has collected Rs 192.5 crore within its first nine days.
