Ajay Devgn & Big B Start Shooting For 'Mayday'; Film To Release On THIS Date

'Mayday' also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles. The movie will be directed by Ajay Devgn.

New Delhi: Ajay Devgn's upcoming project 'Mayday' has been making waves ever since it was announced that the Bollywood superstar will return to direction with the film. The 'Singham' actor will not only direct the much-awaited flick but also star in it. Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan have started shooting for 'Mayday' from Friday (December 11) in Hyderabad.

Ajay Devgn's 'Mayday' Release Date

The 'Golmaal' actor took to social media to inform the fans that he has commenced the shoot for the upcoming film. He also announced the release date of the movie. 'Mayday' will hit the silver screens on April 29, 2020. The makers have opted for a start-to-finish schedule for the highly anticipated movie. Devgn shared a photo of the clapboard along with the caption, "Happy to officially begin MayDay in a start-to-finish shooting schedule. Seek blessings from the Almighty and my parents. Nothing is complete without the support of all my fans, family and well-wishers. Releases on 29th April 2022."

Ajay Devgn & Amitabh Bachchan Films Ajay and Amitabh have worked in several movies including 'Khakee', 'Major Saab', 'Aag', 'Hindustan Ki Kasam', to name a few. They were last seen together in Prakash Jha's 'Satyagraha', which released in 2013.  Movie buffs are quite excited to see the duo together on the silver screen. The details about their roles in 'Mayday' have been kept under wraps.

Mayday Star Cast

While Big B and Ajay Devgn will be seen in lead roles, Rakul Preet and Angira Dhar will essay pivotal characters in the film. According to Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Angira will play the role of a lawyer in the film.

The 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' actor has many exciting films in his kitty including 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India' and 'Maidaan'. 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India', which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Nora Fatehi, will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar. Ajay Devgn will be seen in a special appearance in SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'.
