Abhay Deol, while interacting with a leading entertainment portal blasted the blind items of the Bollywood industry. Read on.

New Delhi: Abhay Deol has always been known for being ‘unapologetically himself’. The actor has never stopped from speaking out his mind irrespective of the situation and consequences that follows thereafter. Though Deol comes from a filmy background, the ‘Dev D’ actor was one of the first from the Entertainment industry to shed light on the ‘lobbyism’ that exists. Recently, while speaking to a leading entertainment portal, the actor slammed Bollywood’s blind items and how it can affect the outsiders. He was quoted saying by Bollywood Hungama, “I mean, there’s no journalistic integrity in that so I find the hypocrisy a little jarring. Until we don’t call out these people, they’re going to continue writing what they did. The difference between the actors and them is that we’ll call you out by your name and they will just hide behind the garb of ‘rumour has it’ and then just give you blatant hints to who it is. I’m glad that he is being called out, there’s no credibility there.” Elaborating on the outsiders’ struggle with the blind items, the ‘Raanjhanaa’ actor said that it can have a very bad impact on someone’s mind and career who is not from inside the industry. He told the same portal, “When he gives hints that are pretty obvious as to who he is talking about, it will affect somebody’s mind. I’m fine with it, it doesn’t make a difference to me; I have not come up with anybody’s help. But someone who has come from the outside, if someone has a mental health issue or is more sensitive, it’s harder for them. I’ve grown up around fame so I know what’s news today will be old news tomorrow. But, I don’t expect everybody to have that knowledge or their approach. Because you can handle someone like KRK saying it since no one takes him seriously, but people do take Rajeev seriously. When he writes things like these, it could have an impact on somebody’s mind and also on their career.” “It’s shocking that people in power would do that, because how insecure do you have to be? You have already reached the epitome of success, why are you trying to legitimize rumours? Who are you serving if you’re writing blind items?” added Abhay Deol.
On the professional front, Abhay Deol was last seen in the Hindi drama film ‘What Are The Odds’ by Megha Ramaswamy. This movie was released on Netflix on 20th May 2020.
