Noida: Great negligence of Noida Authority has come to the fore as a picture of actor Farhan Akhtar was put up in place of Milkha Singh on the racing track built by the authority at the Noida Stadium. After the photo went viral on social media, the administration swung into action and the photo was taken down immediately.
Milkha Singh, who passed away a few days back, is recognized all over the world. However, the authority at the Noida stadium seemed to have a sort of confusion in recognizing the legend and that is why instead of putting up Milkha Singh's original picture, they put up reel-life Milkha Singh Farhan Akhtar’s picture on the stadium.

The picture of reel-life Milkha Singh on the track went viral on social media, after which people on social media slammed the authority. The authority officials immediately removed the picture of Farhan Akhtar on the racing track. Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari herself tweeted and informed that the picture of actor Farhan Akhtar on the racing track of Noida Stadium has been removed and that soon the picture of Flying Sikh Milkha Singh will be painted there.
Farhan Akhtar portrayed the role of Milkha Singh in the sports biopic ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. The actor was so good at painting Milkha Singh’s picture on-screen that the audience couldn’t get enough of the uncanny resemblance between the two. The film was both critically and commercially successful.
After the death of Flying Sikh Milkha Singh on June 18, people from all across the globe have been paying tribute to him on social media. The legendary Indian sprinter passed away due to COVID-19 complications and was cremated with state honours in Chandigarh. PM Narendra Modi also mourned the loss of this legend.
