New Delhi: One of the most respected singers in the history of Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar celebrated her birthday yesterday (September 28). As the Queen of Melody added another beautiful year to her life, fans from across the world wished Lata Mangeshkar on her special day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his warm wishes to Lata ji on her birthday in a tweet.

PM Narendra Modi shared a tweet that read, “Birthday greetings to respected Lata Didi. Her melodious voice reverberates across the world. She is respected for her humility & passion towards Indian culture. Personally, her blessings are a source of great strength. I pray for Lata Didi’s long & healthy life.”

Replying to this tweet, Lata Mangeshkar wrote, “Namaskar aadarniya Narendra bhai. Aap ki shubhkaamnaaon se meri himmat badhti hai aur mujhe khushi hoti hai ki aap itne vyast hote hue bhi mera janamdin kabhi nahi bhulte. Ye pyar aisehi bana rahe yehi kaamna. Aap ki behen Lata.”

Now, a day after her birthday, Lata Mangeshkar has a special message for all her fans who extended their wishes through social media, letters and phone calls. She also shared in her audio that because of all the fans, she is ‘Lata Mangeshkar’. She further said that she is grateful for all the love from her fans and will continue to be theirs forever.

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, who is related to Lata Mangeshkar also wished her ‘Aaji’ on her special day with a family picture. The ‘Ek Villain’ actress wrote while sharing, “Happy birthday Lata aaji”.

Lata Mangeshkar has been mesmerizing the audience with her soothing voice. The music maverick has recorded more than 100 songs in her career and has received many awards and recognitions for her contribution to the world of Indian cinema.
