BTS' RM Pens Emotional Letter As 99-Day Countdown To Military Discharge Kicks Off
BTS leader RM has shared an update with fans as he continues to serve in the mandatory military service.

New Delhi: RM, the frontman of BTS, addressed his followers with an emotional update on Weverse on March 3, 2025, while performing his obligatory military duty. In a reflective letter, RM described his routine in the Hwacheon quarters and assured BTS ARMY that he was doing well. The rapper said that he is finding satisfaction as his military discharge clock approaches two digits.
RM (Kim Namjoon) gave an inside look at his life on base and shared his thoughts on love, time, and the unpredictable moments of life. The BTS member mentioned reading Erich Fromm's 'The Art of Loving' every night after attending roll call and contemplating his life and music career. "As someone who creates music, what am I making, and what are people hearing?" RM wondered.
RM reflected, asking himself, "What kind of determination did I have when I stood in front of you all?"

According to RM, who has only three months remaining in his military duty, he is using this time to refocus his thoughts and emotions. He wrote, “Three months left—18% to go. I mean, I doubt I’ll die before then. I’ll make sure to return healthy.”
As if that weren't enough, RM also shared a post on Instagram, a move that shows how much he and ARMY both miss each other.

RM's Heartfelt Message to Fans
At the conclusion of his heartfelt message, RM wrote to his fans, "I love you today, too, it's decision, it's a promise." Fan anticipation of his return in 99 days was heightened by the heartfelt message, which left many feeling emotional.
Jungkook, RM, Suga, Jimin, and Kim Taehyung are all currently in the South Korean military. They will all be released in June of this year.
