According to The Pixel Project, RM earned his place on the list due to his proactive stance on feminism, a topic often considered controversial in South Korea. After facing criticism from fans regarding misogynistic undertones in BTS’ early lyrics, RM embarked on a journey of education and growth. He enrolled in women and gender studies courses and consulted with a women’s studies professor to refine his songwriting, a practice he continues to this day.

RM has also used his vast platform to influence pop culture and promote gender equality. He has openly discussed feminist literature he’s read and shared insights about Rha Hye Seok, a pioneering feminist painter in Korea.
