Kareena Kapoor Khan Criticised For Not Wearing Bindi In Akshaya Tritiya Ad For Jewellery Brand

New Delhi: Kareena Kapoor Khan's name got mired in a Twitter trends controversy involving a popular jewellery brand.

The actress had appeared in an advertisement for the brand in a pink lehenga, and jewellery to go with the look. Her makeup was minimal and she adorned no bindi. This has displeased some people, who are taking to microblogging site Twitter to express their "anger". Users have questioned why Kareena is not wearing a bindi on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, on the eve of which the ad was launched.

"So called 'The Responsible Jeweller' releasing ad with Kareena Kapoor Khan without a bindi for Akshaya Tritiya ! Do they care about Hindu culture ? #Boycott_MalabarGold #No_Bindi_No_Business," a tweet read.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will appear in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' alongside Aamir Khan. The 'Jab We Met' actress also announced her first Netflix film with Sujoy Ghosh's crime mystery.

The film will also star Jaideep Alhawat and Vijay Verma. Kareena's Neftlix film is the official adaption of the acclaimed novel of Keigo Higashino’s ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’.

Interestingly, Sujoy had announced the same film back in 2015 and has cast Saif Ali Khan for it. Although the film did not materialse then, it will soon be a reality now.

Kareena Kapoor Khan also has an untitled project with Ekta Kapoor and Hansal Mehta. She is also the part of Karan Johar's magnum opus 'Takht'.
