International pop icon Katy Perry and five other distinguished women from various fields returned safely to Earth after making history aboard Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space flight.

International pop icon Katy Perry and five other distinguished women from various fields returned safely to Earth after making history aboard Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space flight. This marked the first all-female crewed flight to space, an extraordinary feat in space tourism history. The 11-minute suborbital journey took off from West Texas and successfully returned after briefly reaching the edge of space.

Katy Perry’s Emotional Moment After Landing

While moments of zero gravity and the women floating weightlessly mid-flight quickly went viral on social media, it was Katy Perry’s emotional gesture upon landing that truly stole the show. Overwhelmed by the experience, the pop star bent down to kiss the Earth, expressing deep gratitude and love.

"I feel super connected to love. So connected to love. I think this experience has shown me how much love is inside of you, how much love you have to give, and how loved you are until the day you launch," Perry told reporters after stepping out of the Blue Origin capsule.

Katy Perry Sings ‘What A Wonderful World’ in Space

During the moments of microgravity, the six women unbuckled to savor the sensation of weightlessness. Instead of performing one of her chart-topping hits like ‘Roar’ or ‘Firework’, Perry opted for a timeless tune.

CBS host Gayle King, who was also aboard the flight, shared, “We kept asking her to sing ‘Roar’ or ‘Firework,’ but she said, ‘It’s not about me. I want to talk about the world.’ And then she sang ‘What a Wonderful World.’ It was really special.”

Describing the once-in-a-lifetime moment, Perry called it “the highest high” and “a surrender to the unknown.”

"I couldn’t recommend this experience more," she added. When asked if she’d write a song inspired by her space tourism journey, the singer confirmed, “Oh, for sure, 100%.”

Other Crew Members Aboard Blue Origin’s Historic Flight

Joining Katy Perry on this Blue Origin space mission were Lauren Sánchez (Jeff Bezos’ fiancée), former NASA aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, film producer Kerianne Flynn, scientist and activist Amanda Nguyen, and CBS anchor Gayle King. Together, the women celebrated their short but symbolic journey into space, sharing moments of awe and camaraderie.

Oprah Winfrey Gets Emotional at the Launch

Supporting her close friend Gayle King, Oprah Winfrey attended the launch in Texas and was visibly emotional as the Blue Origin rocket lifted off. The media mogul’s reaction added another heartfelt layer to the mission’s already emotional atmosphere.

Blue Origin Space Tourism and Future Plans

Blue Origin, founded in 2000 by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, continues to pioneer commercial space tourism. The company has not disclosed the costs associated with this latest flight or who covered them. Notably, this launch occurred just two months before Bezos and Sánchez’s upcoming wedding in Venice.
