Oscas 2025 nominations
This year’s Oscar nominations, unveiled in January, were slightly delayed due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, which led to tragic loss of life and significant property damage.
Among this year’s top contenders, Jacques Audiard’s Spanish-language, French-produced film 'Emilia Perez' leads the pack with an impressive 13 nominations. Close behind are 'Wicked' and 'The Brutalist,' each securing 10 nods. Other notable films in the race include 'Conclave' and 'A Complete Unknown' with eight nominations each, as well as 'Anora,' which has garnered six nominations.
Among the top contenders for Best Actor is Timothée Chalamet, recognised for his remarkable transformation into Bob Dylan in ‘A Complete Unknown’. He will compete against Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice). Notably, Brody remains the youngest winner in the category’s history, having won at age 29 for The Pianist in 2003.
With an exciting lineup of performances, fierce competition among nominees, and a tribute to a music legend, the 97th Academy Awards promises to be a night to remember for film aficionados worldwide.
