Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Chiranjeevi were among many celebs who rushed to social media to express their joy at Naatu Naatu's victory at the Oscars. 

New Delhi: Song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli's RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, received the Academy Award for Best Music (Original Song). Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Chiranjeevi were among many celebs and fans who rushed to social media to express their joy at the victory. 

Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi, who is also the father of actor Ram Charan, was quick to respond to the momentous occasion when the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film ‘RRR’ won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Shortly after the exciting news, Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to share his excitement.

He wrote, “#NaatuNaatu  ON TOP OF THE WORLD !!! And THE OSCAR for the Best Original Song Goes To,” tagging the entire team of the movie. 

Samantha Ruth Prabhu called this an incredible moment as she shared an Instagram story.

Kangana Ranaut took the Twitter and congratulate entire India. She wrote, "Congratulations to entire India🇮🇳a movie about suppression, torture, killing, colonisation of Indians based on racial grounds gets appreciated on a world platform, number of Indians died just during one Bengal famine were way more than Jews died during holocaust. Thank team RRR."

Priyanka Chopra shared her excitement at the victory on social media. "Yessss team @rrrmovie," she wrote.

‘Naatu Naatu’ was up against songs like ‘Raise Me Up’ from Black Panther, ‘This Is A Life’ from Everything Everywhere All at Once, and ‘Applause’ from Tell It Like a Woman in the category for best original song. 

This year, Jimmy Kimmel hosted the awards show.

The song has already won the Golden Globe and the Critics' Choice Awards for Best Original Song. The song's win at the Oscars has undoubtedly boosted India's pride.

'RRR' is a magnum opus drama set in the 1920s - pre-Independence era. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles as Komaram Bheem and Ram. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Olivia Morris and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles.
