Film Critic Rajeev Masand Admitted To ICU In Critical Condition; Tests COVID-19 Positive
A source close to Rajeev Masand told ABP News that Rajeev’s condition is critical due to which he has been shifted to the ICU.
Mumbai: Rajeev Masand, who has made a distinct identity for himself as a critic of Bollywood and Hollywood films has contracted the COVID-19 virus. The film critic tested positive for coronavirus and has been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai a few days ago.
A source close to Rajeev Masand told ABP News that Rajeev’s condition is critical due to which he has been shifted to the ICU. Rajeev Masand has been in the field of journalism for the last 25 years and is 42 years old.
Last year, Rajeev Masand left journalism and joined as a Chief Operating Officer in Karan Johar and Bunty Sajdeh’s new talent management company ‘Dharma Cornerstone Agency’.
Rajeev Masand started his career in journalism at the age of 16 with Times Of India. He then worked as a film journalist in Indian Express for a few years. He also joined Star News (now ABP News) as a film critic and journalist. He hosted the show ‘Masand Ki Pasand’ in Star News where he used to review movies.
Rajeev Masand then joined the English news channel CNN IBN which was launched in the year 2005. Masand’s show ‘Now Showing’ is extremely popular amongst the audience and it aired every Friday, where he used to review movies of different genre.
Rajiv worked with CNN IBN for about 15 years. After the end of his contract with the channel in 2020, Masand joined as a COO in 'Dharma Cornerstone Agency'.
As a film journalist, Rajeev also covered many prestigious film festivals around the world including Cannes’ Film Festival. During the launch or promotion of films in many countries of the world, Rajiv Masand also got the opportunity to interview the big stars from Hollywood.
He was also awarded the 'Best Entertainment Critic' award thrice by the NT Awards.
