'Dearest Wife, You Bring So Much Happiness Into My Life': Vicky Kaushal To Katrina Kaif After Winning Filmfare Award

Vicky Kaushal was accompanied by his wife, actor Katrina Kaif at the Filmfare Awards. Vicky bagged The Best Actor (Critics Choice) Award for his performance in ‘Sardar Udham Singh’.

New Delhi: It was a special night for Vicky Kaushal as he attended the Filmfare Awards in Mumbai on Tuesday. The actor was accompanied by his wife, actor Katrina Kaif and as the lady luck was by his side, Vicky bagged The Best Actor (Critics Choice) Award for his performance in ‘Sardar Udham Singh’. 

While Vicky Kaushal was sporting a black tuxedo, Katrina looked drop-dead gorgeous in a sheer saree. As the couple entered the venue, host Ranveer said was quick to say from stage, “Oh my god, beautiful couple, God bless, God bless.” Arjun Kapoor, who was co-hosting with Ranveer also said, “Aayi Chikni Chameli (referring to Katrina's dance number) with Vicky Kaushal.” They were seated with Vicky’s brother, actor Sunny Kaushal.   

As soon as Vicky’s name was announced as the Best Actor (Critics), Katrina gave the loudest cheer and kissed him. The actor, while accepting the award, thanked Katrina and his family. He said, “I love you mom-dad. I love you, dearest wife, you have brought so much happiness into my life. Thank you Sunny, you guys make me who I am as a person.” 

He also paid a tribute to late actor Irrfan Khan who was initially supposed to do the film. “This is my first Filmfare. This feels very very special. It was a special film for all of us. So thankful to Shoojit Da. My performance in this film is a tribute to Irrfan Khan. I miss him so much,” Vicky said.   

Though the couple didn’t walk the red carpet together, Vicky sang Katrina's hit song Kala Chashma on the red carpet. 

Vicky also posted on his Instagram Stories, "Sardar Udham for the win. 9 Filmfare Awards. Miss you Shoojit Sircar da (brother)!" 

Katrina and Vicky tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony on December 9. The couple posted their first official pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Only love and gratitude in our hearts for everything that brought us to this moment . Seeking all your love and blessings as we begin this new journey together.”
