New Delhi: Salman Khan may attend and host many award shows now bu thta was not always the case. In an old video clip of the megastar that has been doing the rounds on social media, Salman Khan says that the magazine that is running on our strength wants to give awards to us, making it look like 'my driver and my servant boy giving me an award'.

In the video from 1998 that has been doing the rounds on social media, we see him say, " I think people who don't have confidence in themselves, they want awards. I would not go up and pick up filmfare awards, I would not go up there and up any stupid awards..."

“Jaise abhi, 3-4 award owners, contacted me. I didn't want to go and up any awards..." Khan says in the video,

Magazines who run on our interviews want to give us awards: Salman Khan

Salman added that magazines and publications that run on the 'star power' or strength of the actors' interviews they take, want to give them awards by calling them to perform.

"Magazines that are running on our strength, understand, ki aapke interview pe, starts ke interviews pe ye magazine  chal rahi hai. Vahi apko bulate hai aur apko bilte hai ki bhai we will give you an award, you come and perform this that and ye voh. And, they sell it to Pan Parag or Manikchand. And we are like idiots going on their shows, suit vuit pehen ke bethe hai aur award le rahe hai, I'm not interested in this”( These magazines which run on our strength, on the strength of our interviews, call us to say, ‘you come perform at our award show’ and we will give you an award. They then sell it to Pan Parang or Manikchand, and we are like idiots sitting on the show, wearing suits and taking awards like idiots…)
