A part that seems to have caught everyone's attention is when Aayush recalled dancing in the background of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' song 'Dilliwaali Girlfriend'.
New Delhi: Aayush Sharma will soon be seen in 'Ruslaan' alongside Sushrii Shreya Mishraa. In several recent interactions with the media for the promotions of his film, Aayush Sharma spoke about his struggle, being dependent on the Khan family and journey from a background artist to a lead actor. Amid all this, a part that seems to have caught everyone's attention is when Aayush recalled dancing in the background of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' song 'Dilliwaali Girlfriend'.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, when the interviewer asked Aayush Sharma about his first visit to Mehboob studio to shoot a song as background dancer to his journey now as a lead hero for 'Ruslaan' and how his life had come full circle, Aayush Sharma said, "Ji ( life has come a full circle), main na batana chahta huin pehli bar main mehboob studio aya tha 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' ke lie. Kahi logo na kaha background dancers ke sath kam karna hoga to maine kaha mujhe na dekhna hai ki film set hota kaise hai, shoot hota kaise hai, AD nahi ban paa raha tha, koi AD ka kam nahi mil paa raha tha, casting director banna chahta tha ki shayad se casting director ke through mai ek film set tak pahunch sakuin ki film banti kaise hai (I want to tell you that my first visit to Mehboob studio was for Yeh Jawani Hai Dewani Shoot. At the time, I was told that you will be dancing with background dancers, and I wanted to see what a film set looks like or how the shoot happens. I wanted to be an AD but was not getting that job. Then, I thought of becoming a casting director so that I could get near a film set and see how a film is made or how a shoot happens. )

“Toh I remember ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ ka shoot tha at Mehbooh studio gate pe maine pucha ki kaha jana hai to they said yaha shoot hai, boht khoobsurat moment tha kyunki us din kumse kum 300-400 background artist they jisme se main bhi ek tha. Upar chadke, vaha studio pe costume trials the, fitting vitting kaun dekhta tha.... us time pe Manish Malhotra sir kapdo ke trials karke nikle the sir bahar waha se, phir Deepika ji ko dekha, kalki ko dekha, finally Ranbir Kapoor aye set pe. ( I remember, it was a very beautiful moment, we were some 300-400 baackgriund dancers, there was a small room up in the studio where we had our costume trails. I then saw Manish Malhotra come out after the costume trial and then I saw Deepika, Kalki and finally Ranbir Kapoor).
Aayush Sharma allows everyone near montiors on his film sets
Aayush then added how he tried to hide from the camera when he was being pushed in front. The 'Antim' actor also added that he really wanted to see how he looked on the monitor but feared because only HOD's are generally allowed near the monitor area.
"Phir Dilliwaali Girlriend tha, hume peeche step dia thi ki ye karna hai, kahi na kahi mai aise chup bhi raha tha ki dikh na jao camera mein, mai to seekhne aaya huin... kitna time laga aise shot le rahe the, us din mujhe bade craving thi ki monitor mein jake dekhuin ki kya shoot kia gya hai kyunki mai background mein tha, aur samne ranbir kapoor and deepika ji khade the to mera bada man tha dekhne ka main camera meinkaisa dikh raha huin, aur mai gya tha dekhne, lekin sirf HODs hi monitor dekh sakte hai."( It was for the song ‘Dilliwali Girlfriend’. We had been told the steps and we did them. I was trying to hide behind the camera thinking, I am here to learn… But that day, I had a craving to see the monitor. I wanted to see how I looked or danced but I feared if someone said that only HOD’s are allowed near the monitor)
Sharma then said that 'only HODs at monitor' rule is not followed on his sets. He has imbibed that from his journey. “To main apne set pe kabhi kisi ko monitor dekhne se nahi rokta, kyunki mujhe us waqt dar tha ki koi bol na de ki tumhara yaha kam nahi hai, HOD hi hote hai jo mintor dekhte hai. To voh mere andr se reh gya tha ki main dikha kaise, ki main acha nacha ke nahi, to voh cheez maine apne career mein imbibe kari hai ki mere set pe koi bhi ake monitor dekh sakta hai.Mere set pe mein aaj bhi apne background dancers ko high bolta huin, kyunki mujhe pata aaj shayad ye background dancers hongem kal shayad superstars honge. ( So, I make sure I don’t have that on my set. I don’t stop anyone from going near the monitor. I have imbibed that in my career from my journey. I also say hi to my background dancers because they may be artists today but they could be superstars tomorrow).
'Ruslaan' will be released on April 26, 2024.
