‘I Was Always Too Shy’: Vijay Varma On His First On-Screen Dancing Moments In ‘Jaane Jaan’

Vijay Varma shares the story behind his dance performance with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

New Delhi: Vijay Varma astonished everyone with his protagonist performance in the latest film ‘Jaane Jaan’. Apart from receiving accolades for his role in the thriller drama, Vijay Varma garners attention for his first-ever on-screen dance performance from the film, in which he is seen dancing with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The film directed by Sujoy Ghosh, ‘Jaane Jaan’ features Vijay Varma dancing for the first time on-screen and sharing the story behind his dance performance.

Vijay Varma took to his social media and shared a series of super adorable pictures from the film of himself with Kareena Kapoor Khan and captioned, "I never danced on-screen before #JaaneJaan. I was always too shy.. I still am. It wasn’t even written in the script! I would have prepared myself in that case. @sujoyghoshofficial broke the news to me on the set and I protested.. But when @kareenakapoorkhan asks you to dance.. you dance. That’s the rule"

‘Jaane Jaan’ presents the fresh side of the versatile actor and it also has him doing action sequences. From critics to the audience, everyone is raving about his outstanding performance in the film.

'Jaane Jaan' is an official adaptation of Keigo Higashino's 2005 book 'The Devotion of Suspect X'.

ABPLive review of the movie read: Vijay Varma does justice to his part but the same cannot be said about the story doing justice to his character. While the actor does his best to make his part stand out, the character arc of Karan is faulty, lacking depth and missing out on the opportunity to utilise the actor's potential to its fullest.

Meanwhile, Vijay Varma, who ruled the year 2023 with ‘Dahaad,’ ‘Lust Stories Season 2,’ ‘Kaalkoot,’ and the recent release ‘Jaane Jaan,’ will be next seen in Homi Adajania's 'Murder Mubarak' and the much-awaited 'Mirzapur 3'.
