Vijay Antony's Wife's Old Post Goes Viral After Daughter's Death

Tamil actor-composer Vijay Antony’s daughter Meera allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday (September 19) at her home in Chennai. She was 16.

Vijay Antony's daughter was found hanging at the residence around 3:00 a.m. by the house help.

New Delhi: Tamil actor-composer Vijay Antony’s daughter Meera allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday (September 19) at her home in Chennai. She was 16. An old tweet by her mother Fatima is going viral where her mother has expressed happiness as Meera became the cultural secretary of her school students association. 

In March, Fatima shared a photo of Meera and wrote, "The Force behind my strength, the consolations to my tears, the reason for my stress(Naughtiness super loaded)my Thangakatti-chellakutty. Meera Vijay Antony ,Congrats Baby (sic)." 

Reacting to the tweet by Meera's mother, film trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted, “In March of this year, Fatima Vijay Antony was so happy that her daughter Meera Vijay Antony became the cultural secretary of her school students association. We all congratulated her on Twitter. She was the world to her parents. Can't imagine the pain." 

She is among the two daughters of Antony and was studying in Class 12 at a private school. 

Meera was found hanging at the residence around 3:00 a.m. by the house help. The shocked family rushed her to the hospital where she was declared dead. According to reports, she was under stress and getting treatment for it. 

Meera is survived by her father, mother Fatima, and her sister. 

Many celebrities took to social media to pay condolences. Reacting to her demise, veteran actor R Sarathkumar said, “The news of the untimely and unfortunate demise of the daughter of @vijayantony and Fatima is shocking beyond imaginations. No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima. Vijay I hope the almighty gives strength to your family to bear this unfathomable loss. May her soul rest in peace #RIPMeera R.Sarathkumar & Family.” 

Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu in a post on X said, “Woke up to this shocking news! Deepest condolences Vijay Antony Sir and family.”

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada said, “Praying for strength and love to the family of Vijay Anthony sir Truly hope everyone is really sensitive when reporting this; the ideal thing would be for media to give the family privacy and leave them alone. Heartbreaking.”
